Mesmerizing and wonderfully disorienting take on a familiar biblical story. I particularly love the buzzing drones on Kane’s side, slowly building inside his head, stoking a madness that results in horror. Yet when the voice appears it is like that of a dark angel, understanding what it is to be a flawed human, holding Kane’s hand even as it drips with his brother’s blood. In the end the project reveals two opposed yet complementary aspects of the religious impulse: to obey, and to resist.

I often hear this album when I feel sad or depressed (Of course, I hear it even when I’m fine!). I sometimes cry with tears while I listen to the sounds she made. But after that, I feel much better. This means she helps me live in this world, which is sometimes too hard to live in.
